Enter Helsinki

Series ENTER HELSINKI is a study of Western urban culture and the built environment. The series premièred in my retrospective exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography in 2012.

In these photographs, my subjects are isolated against the background of night, which reveals the serialism and plasticity of the built environment and fades away the notion of location. The photographs combine to form a journey that takes us from the city´s periphery, through its wastelands, industrial estates and sleeping suburbs, towards the centre.
