Sculpturer and media artist Pekko Vasantola (b.1994) graduated as a visual artist from Turku Arts Academy (2019) and is currently finalising his master’s studies at Aalto University. Personal data, new technologies and portraiture are common themes in Vasantola’s work. He creates abstract portraits based on data, reflecting on the structuring of our identity and the interaction of human perception and technology. Vasantola uses mediums ranging from cell culturing to granite sculptures and from writing AI software to video installations.
