The exhibition of artworks – photography, artist books, video – is compiled from various encountered views, situations, quotes and dictionary entries. Among other things, I’ve brought words together that are similar in their form and semantic (artist book: ”Two of a Kind”) and show green parrots appearing in the snow (video: ”Parrots in Amsterdam”). These are some of the works featured in the exhibition.
I portray things that seemingly contradict each other or do not go together, but which nevertheless are similar in ways often not considered. They show entanglements of nature, culture and language that we encounter in our environment and observations. In them, I’ve looked for metaphorical passages that blur the boundaries of perception and imagination. For me, it is a poetic exploration of the internal structures of experiences.
