Moving Colours is an abstract video installation comprising a series of coloured surfaces that slowly move and change, creating new spaces and expanses. 

The shifting colours create an optical effect known as an afterimage that causes the viewer to see previously viewed colours as reversed. For this reason, it is not possible to determine where any given image begins or what colour it actually is. The abstract coloured surfaces are a nod to the visual arts tradition, but their movement also adds a narrative dimension to the work. In viewing the artwork, we travel towards narrativity, whilst simultaneously moving away from it. Ultimately, Moving Colours is about perception and the act of challenging our perceptions. I have created the soundscape using an electric guitar and effects pedals. 

The Still Colours photography series comprises six images taken from the Moving Colours video. The photographs allow the viewer to experience colour, light and shape in an entirely different way.
