Markus Rissanen 10.1. - 1.2. 2009Check out the landscapes! Landscapes, trees, or trees of sorts, leaves, branches, lumps, bumps, trunks, links and constructions. Space full of things, things full of space, empty space full of space, free of things.
In my work, 2 and 3D blend into a world all of their own, subject to its own internal logic. My works do not offer a realistic representation of the physical environment, nor do they feature landscapes in the ordinary sense. In addition to the familiar natural elements, my landscapes depict my own interpretation of nature imagery. They also feature echoes comic strips, graphic design and pop art. These are employed to achieve a clarity of expression using strong colours and pared-down shapes.
