In my video installation, Model Studies I-IV , I use professional models who pose for the artist as if in a croquis class. Instead of sketching them, I capture the models on video. This means I share with the viewer the special way in which the artist sees the model: the gaze is active, yet neutral, free of all voyeurism. It is a thus privilege to look at another person.
